Most of these melodies were born on nights in the North Antrim countryside of long ago. There is a host of fine memories in these tunes. There are faces and laughter and soft loving daydreams that live on and on. The players are my friends and like all good friends, we found a way to celbrate the life and our heritage that gave us this music. |

"These popular old melodies have lived in Irish hearts for over a hundred years. They have earned their place alongside the jigs and reels and the multitude of pub and street ballads. They will take you to a peaceful place that was born out of dreaming about home - a place, perhaps, that only exists in our imagination. The melodies are presented in their pure form, played on accoustic instruments only." |

This past decade since I left the Irish Rovers has been an interesting journey where I hopefully discovered a lot more about myself and was able to chase dozens of stored daydreams and try a lot of new ideas, some that were grand and joyful and successful and only a few that left an ache.
I miss the comradeship of the Irish Rovers, and yet on my own I have been able to step out and make new friends and forge new relationships.
On this site, I would like to introduce you to my music, art and written words I have four beautiful accoustic instrumental C.D's featuring some of Ireland's great musicians like Derek Bell of the Chieftans (Celtic Seasons CD). Recently I received a gold record award for one of these magical Chacra Alternative Music recordings. The great flute player Paul Horn joined me on "Journey of the Celts."
There is also “Songs of my Irish Rovings” with all the good old songs made popular during my days with the Irish Rovers. There is “Irish Gold”- a collection of the worlds best loved Irish melodies. And- one of my favourites for kids of all ages “Songs of the Unicorn” Hopefully another couple of C.D’s are on the way! Please click on the songs with the asterisk * and you will be able to hear some of the great music.
Oh and by the way my recent book "Messing About in Boats" has been made into a talking book for all you sailors who think that reading gets in the way of a good day on the water. You can view my paintings- some new and some older , some available and some sold. You can also get art cards and prints of any of the pieces for $7.00 which includes shipping and handling.
Anyway please rummage through my site that is sort of like a Tinkers Cart of Celtic soul and you never know you might find something that will lift the spirits, make you smile or offer you a bit of escape from whatever is bothering you .
As the oul' Chinese Philosopher once said “May the roof above us never fall in and the Friends beneath it never fall out!”
Slainte, Will
